Challenges We Faced

  1. Provision store is a unique niche to tackle as there is not many convenience stores that has an online presence. Our advertising efforts needed to be clear and effective to differentiate the value of 123Store to customers in this area. 
  2. Tracking is required. There was no tracking in place for the whole store. Hence, it was difficult for us to track how well our ads campaigns are doing and make clear business decision. The installation of all the tracking was done immediately when the handover was completed. We had to recreate conversion action to ensure we were tracking properly.
  3. We have troubles with the initial ads as they did not highlight the main value of what 123Store is providing. Potential customers were not able to understand the ads that we were doing, causing too much friction between the customer and purchase. We had to redefine through more research to ensure that the portrayed value from 123Store matches the targeted audience.

Strategies

Technical Adjustment

We implemented a strategy to segment our highest quality audience. For example, people who make at least 2 or more purchase. From there we created lookalike audience of the audience list. We wanted to take full advantage of the wonder Facebook algorithms to seek out a similar audience that will be interested to purchase what 123Store has in store.

We structure the account into two stages, one with cold audiences and the other with the audience that is ready for scalability. We opted into Facebook’s best practices to ensure our campaigns stay efficient, scalable, and set up for profitability. CBO and auto placement were used to expand our reach and allow Facebook algorithms to learn by showing ads to an audience that we previously did not identify as our target audience.

Creative Adjustment

The purpose of the creative is to highlight what is the uniqueness of 123Store as well as tell their potential customer what they are offering. With that in mind, we decided to test out two different creative, a video and a still-images. Funny enough, the still-images out-performed the videos in terms of conversion values. Hence, the still-images were used for scaling of our campaigns.
